Super Seven Spanish For Beginners

Although we will review basic Spanish vocabulary (colors, numbers, body parts, family, etc.), this class will focus on using the "Super Seven" verbs. These are some of the most commonly used verbs in Spanish. Students will learn how to describe people and things, express likes and dislikes, indicate whether or not they have something, explain where something is located, etc. using the present tense form of these verbs. Various games and activities will be used to practice and reinforce vocabulary. Each week will build on what we learned the previous weeks. Since we only meet on Fridays, students should spend some time each week reviewing unfamiliar vocabulary so they can be ready to participate in class.
Occasionally students will be given a short homework assignment. For example, they may be asked to write a brief description to use in a Guess Who or Pictionary type game the following week. Doing this at home will allow the kids more time to think about what they want to say and how to say it. These homework assignments shouldn't take more than 15-20 minutes to complete.
