Let's Learn Something Old
About the Course
Have you ever heard of homesteading? Many homesteaders have gardens, maybe some chickens and some may even operate a small farm. Many of them started out small and learned some very basic skills that our ancestors used and then built upon those skills each year. Having a garden or animals are not a requirement to learn these skills. In this class we will learn a few ways to preserve food, learn a little more about common culinary herbs, some basic home remedies, make our own teas and possibly learn about wild foraging. These basic skills can help us to be ready for unexpected circumstances. Students will need a notebook and pencil for taking notes in class. Students may be assigned some homework such as researching specific topics.
