Discovering Great Artists**

In this class your child will be encouraged to explore styles and techniques of the world's greatest artists, with hands-on activities. They will experience different mediums through painting, drawing, printing, sculpting and other manipulation of art materials. Many artists will be familiar names like Frida, Pollock, and Picasso, others will be new to them. The most important thing will be for your child to explore new art ideas and techniques. This class is inspired by the book Discovering Great Artists by MaryAnn Kohl and Kim Solga. Students will be asked to supply some materials found at home, such as a mirror, magazines, boxes or recyclables.
